TRASH COLLECTION:
Do not put trash out BEFORE 3:00 PM the day prior to scheduled collection.
EAST SIDE: MONDAY
WEST SIDE: TUESDAY (Includes Centre Street)
REGULAR TRASH INCLUDES:
HOUSEHOLD WASTE
RUGS and FURNITURE, such as sofas
COMPUTERS or TVs
YARD WASTE (including grass clippings and Christmas trees)
Leaves Only if bagged do not rake in street
CERAMIC BATHROOM FIXTURES (toilets and sinks)
WEDNESDAY ONLY Non-burnable items and CHEMICALS, including:
WASHERS and DRYERS, REFRIGERATORS and FREEZERS, A/C UNITS
Metal (pipes, windows, lamps, etc.)
HOUSEHOLD CHEMICALS (must be in sealed container).
DO NOT PUT REGULAR TRASH OUT ON WEDNESDAY.
FRIDAY ONLY RECYCLABLES CANS and BOTTLES either glass or plastic. Must be RINSED. Can be in the same container.
PAPER (Newspapers, Magazines, Catalogs, Construction Paper, Office Paper such as faxes, Books - soft cover only, Cardboard must be flattened).
Do not include the following in your recycling:
PAPER FOOD CONTAINERS go with regular trash. Auto batteries go with Wednesday metals and chemicals pick up. batteries can be recycled at Borough Hall.
Are you a LANDLORD?
You are responsible for your tenants following the rules for trash and recycling.
Are you a PRIVATE CONTRACTOR?
Private contractors are responsible for removing and disposing of all construction and work debris. This includes landscapers who are responsible for removal of leaves, limbs, trees, and brush. If you are a home owner using a private contractor, you are responsible and subject to fines for the actions of your contractor.
