After a year hiatus, back by popular demand is the 12th annual Merchantville Car Show. This event has seen significant growth over the past 12 years to over 800 cars. Originally started as a local day of fun for families in Merchantville and the surrounding communities, it has grown to draw participants from over 9 states and fill up most of the major parks and thoroughfares throughout the town center. All proceeds from the event benefit the Merchantville Task Force, a non-profit organization dedicated to the enrichment of the community and downtown area. The day is comprised of a large car show that features cars, trucks, motorcycles, vintage bicycles - virtually anything with wheels - with various family-oriented activities throughout the late afternoon and evening. The major streets through town - Park Avenue, Chestnut Avenue, and Centre Street are closed to traffic and participating vehicles are displayed on the roads and parking lots along these streets. Food from among the best local establishments as well as automotive novelty vendors are located along the show route and in the town center park near the old train station. Street entertainers - magicians, DJ's, live bands, and a Center State show with Elvis Impersonator "Mark Reno" - entertain the crowd. Hundreds of town and local volunteers provide information and assistance! Just look for people in the Car Show T-Shirts. Safety rules for the show include: No open alcohol, boom boxes, bicycles, scooters, skateboards and rollerblades on Show Grounds. Information and registration is available on their website @ www.merchantvillecarshow.net. Car Show Flyer - News Release - Neighbors Letter - Seniors Letter
