As of 3/24/08 Council will advertise all ordinances on the Merchantville Website, the Borough bulletin board and by title only in the local newspaper. Copies will be available at the clerk’s office upon request.

The Merchantville-Pennsauken Water Commission solicits statements of qualification for applicants for appointment for the position of “Accounting Consultant”. Responses must be received at the MPWC no later than 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2008.

Borough Council will meet on Monday, May 27, 2008 at 6:30 PM for a Budget workshop meeting. The meeting will take place in at 1 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville, NJ 08109

A parking management study meeting will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 6:00 pm at the Community Center. The meeting will focus on parking meter issues. We would like the business community to actively participate, as well as Borough officials, Board members, residents, and visitors.

Please be advise that the sidewalks at the corner of Maple and Chapel Avenues will be removed the week of May 5 due to the construction. Residents and school children should use the marked alternative routes to cross the street.

Pursuant to the requirements of The Open Public Meetings Act the following is a notice of a Budget Workshop Meeting prior to the scheduled Merchantville Borough Council Meeting. Location: Merchantville Borough Hall, on May 12, 2008 at 6:30 p.m.

Residents are reminded that trash should be placed at the curb no earlier that 3:00 PM on the day preceding your scheduled pickup. Anyone wishing to report violators are asked to call the police tip line at 856-662-2474, ext 166 and leave a message with the information.

Please take notice that the public hearing of the Merchantville Borough Board of Education is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 7:00 P.M., EST at the Merchantville Reading Center, 130 S Centre Street, Merchantville, NJ.

The complete budget will be available for examination by the public at the Merchantville School between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Weekdays from March 18, 2008 through March 25, 2008.

The Fire Department has secured the use of 26 West Maple for training purposes. They anticipate being at the building over the next 10 days using theatrical smoke, pulling hoses, using the aerial, using SCBA, lighting, etc. Operations will be both on the interior and exterior. Operating apparatus will be staged on Maple Avenue and stand by units and personnel carriers will be staged in Shell lot, Alexander Avenue and the Bank of America lot. Due to time constraints operations may be day and evening, weekday and/or weekend.

On or around Friday, 03/21/08, demolition of the old buildings at Chapel & Maple Avenues will begin. Children who walk to and from school should avoid this route and instead cross Chapel Avenue behind the school and walk up the west side of Chapel to Maple.

Special Meeting of the Planning Board scheduled for 3/25/08 has been postponed until 4/22/08 at 7:30 in Borough Hall. The agenda item will remain the continuance of the Hearing to determine if or not 604/606 West Maple Avenue should be designated as an area in need of redevelopment.
