Borough Council meeting Monday |
This week's 2/6/12 Council caucus meeting will cover a variety of items including discussion about the Senior Center roof and bathroom, the fire house roof, the reverse 911 notification system, a request for use of Chestnut Avenue right of way, budget schedule and use of a borough facility for a charity walk. Business resolutions regarding the Camden County cooperative for Office Basics, authorization to advertise for bids for Chestnut Avenue bikeway and CDBG year 3-4 allocation will also be reviewed. An Ordinance about donation clothing bins will be introduced.

Girls softball recruiting players |
Merchantville participates in District 14 softball. Teams are made of 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12 year olds. The home field is located at the main complex along Clayton Avenue.A player registration and volunteer forms are available online at Merchantville zteamz. You can also register in person on Saturday, 2/18/12 at the Community Center, Girls from neighboring towns who want to play Little League softball are welcome to sign up.

For most of the month the Ben Franklin Bridge will have red lighting to support the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Campaign. The campaign began in February 2004 to raise awareness of heart disease among women. Since then the campaign has gained tremendous momentum helping raise funds to support research and education about women and heart disease. On February 4th millions of Americans will be sporting the color red for "National Wear Red Day." |

Mayor North reaffirms Merchantville's solvency |

In a series of short interviews recently conducted by NJ Public Media TV, Mayor North addressed questions raised by the petition group regarding solvency and services in the Borough. North reports that the Borough is in sound shape and "feels we are strong".
