Charles J. Carey Jr., affectionately known as Charley to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2024, in Pennsauken. Born in Philadelphia, Charley was a longtime Pennsauken resident and US Army Veteran. Married to his beloved wife, Meg, for 39 wonderful years, Charley was a devoted husband and a pillar of strength for his family. Together, they raised four remarkable sons: Jeff and his wife, Lauren, Charles, Bobby and his wife Emily;

and Gene and his wife Minako. Charley's role as a father was one he cherished deeply, and he instilled in his sons the values of love, humor, and resilience. Charley's sense of humor was legendary, and he was often the life of the party with his quick wit and endless jokes. He was funny, loving, and spirited, traits that endeared him to everyone he met. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Friday, February 2nd from 10 am to 1 pm at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville.
