PYAA offers Soccer Camp

CCHS college scholarships surpass 2009
Camden Catholic High School in Cherry Hill announced that its 2010 graduating class earned more than $15 million in scholarship offers, exceeding last year's total by $4 million. Unlike many other secondary schools which include government and institutional loan offers in their scholarship totals, Camden Catholic reports only outright financial offers."This was achieved because of Camden Catholic's dedication to academic excellence," said Thomas Kiely, principal. "Colleges have come to know the high standards we set at our school and are confident that our graduates will perform very well in higher education."

School budget remains intact
Most municipal governing bodies mandated further cuts to the spending plans in rejected school budgets they remained intact in Camden County's Clementon, Merchantville and Chesilhurst. Borough activist Gail Ford thinks Merchantville's council should have made a token cut, although the budget was defeated by only five votes, 203-198. While Council member, Anthony Perno, stated board members and residents worked together to identify possible budget cuts in the one-school, K-8 district that would lower the $4.25 million tax levy and came up empty-handed.

Active and beloved resident dies
WHITE, Frank Walter On July 7, 2010, age 89, of Merchantville NJ. Beloved husband of Claire (nee McKee) for 65 years. Dear father of Susanne White of Brooklyn and Michelle (Warren) Henderson of Grand Rapids MI. Dear brother of Florence Sullivan, Judith Breunle and the late Elizabeth, loving grandfather of Zoe and Gwen. Frank was a WW II decorated war hero. He served in the Army Air Force as a B26 pilot on 69 missions and received the Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Car Show rolling back into town July 10th
After a year hiatus, back by popular demand is the 12th annual Merchantville Car Show. This event has seen significant growth over the past 12 years to over 800 cars. Originally started as a local day of fun for families in Merchantville and the surrounding communities, it has grown to draw participants from over 9 states and fill up most of the major parks and thoroughfares throughout the town center. All proceeds from the event benefit the Merchantville Task Force, a non-profit organization

SPS Football and Cheerleading registration
Registration for the 2010 St. Peter Saints Football and Cheerleading Season is $135 a child and is open to all children ages 5-14 regardless of what school you go to or what town you live in. Registration and Free Camp July 20th-22nd at our Game Field, the MES Athletic Field, from 6:00 p.m.to 7:30 p.m. Registrations taken after the July dates will be $150. All registrations must be paid in full by July 22, 2010. No equipment or uniforms will be issued unless you are paid in full. Earn your registration back if you are paid in full by 7/22. Anyone new to the organization or anyone that did not play last year must provide a copy of a birth certificate.

Camden County Nutrition Project Site #5, is located at the Merchantville Community Center, Greenleigh Court & Somerset Road, Merchantville, NJ. This nutrition site is managed by Emma Carter and is open weekdays from 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Lunch is served at noon.
