Attic Auction and Antique Appraisal Night
The Merchantville Area Junior Woman's Club are seeking donations for their Attic Auction and Antique Appraisal Night on Friday, April 30th. The event will take place at 7 o'clock in the Merchantville Community Center. Complimentary Wine & Cheese Tasting, appetizers and live music will be provided. There will be antique appraisals by K&K Collectibles and they are seeking donations of items of value for our Attic Auction. Do you have something valuable in your Attic, Basement or China Closet that you are not using? Please consider making it a donation that will be auctioned to help a hungry child or family in our community. These times are trying for many people living all around us. We have a unique opportunity to help those in need. Proceeds benefit the Food Bank of South Jersey and the charities we support. In gratitude for your donation (monetary or dry food goods), you will be entered into our Grande Prize Auction. Must be in attendance to win. Preliminary 2010-11 BOE Budget released
The Merchantville Board of Education has published a preliminary budget. This budget reflects that approximately 8.23 current staff, 18% of the total number of employees, will not be offered employment next school year. This could change depending on further details involving tenure, certifications and seniority rights. A public hearing will be held on Monday, 3/29 at 7:30 p.m. in Merchantville School.
 
Local connection to Travels With My Aunt
Travels With My Aunt opens April 1st-18th at the WST Independence Studio on 3 and is directed by Merchantville, NJ's John Peakes. He is the Founding Artistic Director of Lansing, MI's Boarshead Theatre and has worked in the Philadelphia area for the past six years. John has performed in over 200 productions including six at the Walnut Street Theatre. Travels With My Aunt marks John's directorial debut at the Walnut after directing well over 100 productions.

Virtua sponsoring health fair
"To celebrate World Health Day" the Rowan University RN-BSN/Virtua Cohort program will be conducting a mini-health fair at all four Virtua Hospital Campuses on April 7, 2010. The event will take place at Virtua Marlton, Virtua Voorhees, Virtua Berlin and Virtua Memorial from 5pm - 8pm. There will be information on various health topics such as cardiovascular disease, summer safety, osteoporosis, etc. Blood pressure and other health care screenings will be conducted. Light refreshments will be served.
 
PUBLIC NOTICE:
Ordinances establishing a schedule of fees for municipal services and bingo and raffle licensing were adopted on March 8, 2010 at the regular meeting of Borough Council. The New Jersey Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program offers financial incentives on energy efficient improvement packages. The more energy savings measures you decide to install, the greater the incentive you may be eligible to receive. The assessment includes a visual inspection of your house as well as combustion appliance testing and could take up to three hours.
