Although Governor Christies final school budget will not be relased until March 16 he has instituted emergency measures to lower the state deficit. One such measure reduces Merchantville School District funding by $460,500 for 2009-10. This mirrors the current district surplus and represents 25.4% of the district state aid. Former St. Peter's teacher dies |
Marie Dionne died on 3/1 at the age of 83 following a stroke suffered 1/29. Born Marie Terese Bailey in Waterbury, CT, she was raised in Camden County and married Roger Dionne. After raising her family she graduated from Rutgers University in 1974 and for the next 30 years taught more than 1,300 children how to read, write and worship at St. Peter's Elementary School. |

The MPWC now offers online payment for your semi-annual water bill. All you need to have for this convenience is the PIN number and your account number from your bill. The Water Commission also invites residents to participate in our public forum and voice any concerns you may have about your water. EMD Woman's Club holds Annual Basket Auction |

The Evening Membership Department of the Merchantville Woman's Club will be holding its Annual Basket Auction on Friday, March 5th. Doors open at 6 p.m. at the Pennsauken High School cafeteria. As in the past, the basket values are excellent. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $7 or at the door for $10.

After almost five months of surgeries, procedures, and treatments, Paul Bailey will return home on Tuesday, March 16th. Paul will be going to Jefferson Hospital for evaluation before transfering to Magee Rehab in Philadelphia for short-term in-patient rehabilitation services.  Tom Guggino and Bob Wagner can usually be found on Saturday nights at Foam Cafe. Bob plays harmonica and Tom plays guitar and sings. Their music is country folk and blues.
