Merchantville Online's Mission

A community focused web site for the Borough of Merchantville, NJ. It contains news, information and on-line community capabilities. It supports organizations, businesses, residents and the municipality of Merchantville, NJ. The web site is free to use and submit information for all residents, municipal entities, organizations, schools, churches and businesses that are relevant to the Merchantville, NJ community. The site first went on-line at the end of 1997. In Feb. 2002 a web site team was formed for a project called MerchantvilleNJ.com v2.0, and a major re-design was released April 2, 2002. The site is entirely a private, not for profit endeavor and is managed by volunteers. Anyone can join the web site team of volunteers. Joan Brennan manages content and administrates the site. Shane Brennan is the site developer and program manager.

Ad publishing and tracking capabilities that allow ads to be easily published and ad views and clickthroughs to be tracked and reported.
Sophisticated logging features that allow reporting on web site traffic and usage statistics.

User registration - So users can get more access to the web site's future features.
Web based content management - So authorized people can be given access to add and change content directly on the site.
E-mail Newsletter - News of new & updated content automatically e-mailed to registered users.
Discussion Forum - For public discussion by registered users.
A true Business & Organization Directory (rather than just a page) - Will allow businesses and organizations to add themselves to the Directory and edit it as needed.
Who's On-line Now - Which will allow people to see who is on the site (and logged in) NOW and chat/instant message them.
Polls - That will allow on-line polling.
