80s Toys at the Fair

This Saturday, September 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, Merchantville's awesome "Play with This" toy store will be hosting its annual Toy and Collectible Street Fair. There will be lots of great toy vendors, special appearances, games, and so much fun. This event is on the same day as the Town Wide Yard Sale, so come by and check us out after your early morning scavenging. And please make sure to stop by my booth at 19 West Park Avenue, where I will have lots of rare and hard to find 80s and 90s toys at great prices. Some of the toys that will be featured at my table are: Transformers, She-Ra action figures, Star Wars action figures, Jem backstager, Nintendo NES, and N64 games. Also featuring Littlest Pet Shop figurines, Polly Pockets, American Girl dolls, Bitty Baby accessories, $5 grab bags and lots of vintage, hard to find plush!

Shop hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Satyrday July 20th and 27th. Ryan's Retail is located at 22 North Centre Street in the old post office building.

Annual Vacation Sale

Aunt Charlotte’s Candies, located at 5 West Maple Avenue in Merchantville, is having their annual vacation sale at the end of this month. Stop by to shop for some delicious candy and great giftware. They're closing for vacation for the entire month of August and their sale starts next Thursday. Dates and hours are: July 25th, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 30% OFF All Candy and Nuts; July 26th from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 40% OFF All Candy and Nuts; and, Saturday, July 27th from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 50% OFF All Candy and Nuts. Fabric Bolts at Thrift Shop

A bundle of fabrics - great for re upholstery, curtains, and pillows - just arrived at Queen Esther’s Treasures Of Old & New Thrift Shop, 29 West Park Avenue. Owner, Linda Kidd Jones, established this family business in memory of her mother, Queen Esther Kidd. “My mom loved to shop for bargains and catch sales and shop at thrift stores and Goodwill,” Jones recounted. This is a family shared business. Jones offers shoppers something for men, women, and children including clothing, jewelry, shoes and boots, books, household items, toys, and much more. The shop is open Wednesday - Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Cabana's Closes

Much to the dismay of frozen treat lovers, Cabana Water Ice Company at 19 South Centre Street appears to have abruptly closed their doors last week. A local teen who worked there got their regular weekly schedule, then shortly after received a text messages saying that was their last night open. Cabana  originally opened its doors in 2011 and reopened on April 13, 2019. Renovations appeared to be underway as late as last week. Food, Art, Gifts & Music

The Station Coffee and Eilandarts Center is tucked inside Merchantville's old train station, hence the name. Owners Nicole and Matt have created an atmosphere where you will find a coffee shop that makes all its food in house and has a gift shop with pieces from many local artisans/small business owners. Combined that with an art center that host a gallery of artist on the regular, as well as classes, lessons, and specialty dinners. If you haven't been by yet take time to check it out. There is something for everyone there.

Extended Easter hours

Aunt Charlotte's offers extended shopping hours for all your Easter basket and gift giving needs. They are open from 9:30 a.m to 9:00 p.m. from April 15-19th, then from 9:30 a.m to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20th. You'll find a "Delight In Every Bite" when you choose this delicious candy made daily upstairs in their factory. Stop in for some classic dark or milk chocolate peanut butter eggs, delicious candies, beautiful gifts and lots of cute stuffed bunnies!
