Hey everyone, it’s time for the Boy Scout Troop 119 Annual Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser. This is one of the few fundraising events they hold all year and they need your support. This event takes place on Saturday, February 29th, from 4:00-6:30 p.m. at Trinity UMC Church, 36 W. Maple Avenue, Merchantville. Tickets are: Adults $10, Seniors $8 and Kids $5 and are available at the door. The funds will benefit scouting activities for the boys and the newly-formed girls troop. Thanks for your support!
Join us at the 14th Annual James Gillespie Sr. Memorial Benefit on Saturday, February 22nd from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at PJ Whelihan's Pub - Cherry Hill. This year promises to be our biggest and best one yet. After Mr. Gillespie passed away in October 2005, some of his relatives and his children's friends created a memorial benefit to raise money for scholarships for students from St. Lawrence School in Lindenwold where our dad coached basketball to attend Catholic high school. After St. Lawrence closed a few years ago, the proceeds from this benefit have been directed towards Camden’s Catholic Partnership Schools Basketball Program, which consists of both boys and girls from all 5 of Camden's Catholic grade schools. The tickets are $35.00 each which includes live music, beer, food, a great auction and a 50/50. To donate a basket or item for the auction or join our benefit committee, please contact Judyann McCarthy at 215-901-6398.
Gather your family and friends and join the fun with The Cherry Hill African-American Civic Association at a New Year Cabaret at the Merchantville Community Center on Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. The Association was organized in 1978 to provide a vehicle for the participation of minority residents in community life in Cherry Hill. To provide a collective voice for residents to exercise their rights and responsibilities as African American citizens. To ensure the welfare of African American youth in the home, school and community. To serve as a platform to encourage the appointment and election of African Americans to positions of leadership. To provide the African American community with information on important political issues, although the organization itself is non-partisan. All Proceeds Benefit CHAACA Annual Scholarship Fund. Tickets are $20 per person through www.PayPal.me/CHAACAORG or call 215-432-3774.
Oh No! Flocking is happening in Merchantville! 3HS (Haddon Heights) Field Hockey, which includes five players from our town, has started their annual flamingo flocking fundraiser. Please be on the look out for these territorial birds! There's only one group trained to remove them from your lawn and for a donation, that expert team will move them to a neighbor or a friend's lawn. So, if they land at your house just follow the instructions by your mailbox.
