The Borough of Merchantville, in concert with F.W. Grigg American Legion Post 68, will be hosting a virtual Memorial Day Ceremony this Memorial Day, May 25th at 10:00 a.m., and we invite you to join us virtually at that time on the Borough’s website, www.merchantvillenj.gov or the official Borough of Merchantville Facebook page where the ceremony will be streamed. Remembering those who have served and paid the ultimate sacrifice through solemn ceremony on Memorial Day is a tradition in the Borough of Merchantville for many decades. Honoring those who have fallen at our memorials in Wellwood Park is one of the most important events that our Borough holds. Although we are restricted from a public ceremony due to COVID-19, we must not forget to honor those who did give the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.
Aunt Charlotte’s Candies will be closed on Monday, January 6, 2020 to celebrate the life of their mother, Virginia (Bunny) Oakford, who passed away on December 10, 2019. There will be a visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and a service immediately following at The First Presbyterian Church, 10 West Maple Avenue in Merchantville. The family invites and welcomes friends and neighbors who would like to attend this memorial. Complete details available through Falco, Caruso & Leonard Funeral Homes.
