139th Birthday Celebration |
|
The annual Merchantville Birthday Celebration is fast approaching. Many of the preparations have been handled already however, we are in need of volunteers to help staff the event. The Birthday will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 on the grounds of Wellwood Park from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wellwood Park is located between West Maple, Hamilton and Linden Avenues. This is a rain or shine event!
There will be traditional picnic, games, races including potato-sack, three legged and egg/spoon; a pie eating contest, a bounce house, balloon clowns and a dunk tank to name few. Refreshments by Cabana Water Ice. Music and entertainment will please the crowd throughout the day.
The Public Events Committee welcomes additional volunteers to help on the day of this event beginning around 9:30 AM to coordinate vendors, setup etc. We appreciate any time you can give us at any point in the day if you can't stay the whole time. Please email me

Annual Car & Bike Show sports some changes |
One of South Jersey’s largest Car Show and Family Events is revving up in beautiful down town Merchantville. Merchantville's 15th Annual Summer Sock Hop, Car and Bike Show will take place on June 29 2013, with a rain date of July 6, 2013. This year car registration will be from 8:30 a.m. - noon and the Show will be from 12 to 5 pm.The famed Elvis Impersonator Mark Reno

2013 Clean Up Day Saturday! |
The Merchantville Task Force is sponsoring a Spring Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 27th from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Interested residents and neighbors should grab their rakes, brooms and shovels and meet at the gazebo at Centre & Chestnut to help spruce up streets, sidewalks, parks and greenspace in the Borough. Task Force to meet this week |
There will be a Task Force Meeting on Thursday April 11th at 1:00 p.m. We will be discussing a number of neighborhood projects, including the New Jersey Tree Foundation’s upcoming tree planting along areas of Maple Avenue and the Overpass in Pennsauken. Additionally, a representative from the Camden Metro Area of the Rails to Trails Conservancy Program will be making a presentation to the Task Force. Please come out and join us! |
