County ready to respond to Andrea |
|
The remnants of Tropical Storm Andrea may cause flash flooding in our area from late tonight through 4 a.m. Saturday morning. The storm is expected to merge with a frontal system tonight and bring our region an extended period of moderate to heavy rainfall. The County’s Public Works Department has made preparations in response to the storm warnings.

County offers Gardening Clinics |

Chances are Camden County’s monthly Plant Clinics hosted by the County’s Master Gardeners can answer them. The clinics are held from 9 a.m.-noon on the third Saturday of every month throughout the spring and summer at the Camden County Environmental Center, 1301 Park Boulevard, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002. |

County Multi-Use Trails Plan meeting |

The DVRPC will unveil the final draft of the Camden County Bicycling & Multi-Use Trails Master Plan on Wednesday, May 29th from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at The Camden County Boathouse, 7050 North Park Drive, Pennsauken. A light dinner will be served and the public is invited. The plan will guide the implementation of multi-use trails and on-road bicycle

Metro Division takes to the streets |

This week, more than 30 Metro Division Officers were deployed into streets of Camden City. These officers are beginning their eight weeks of field training. The field training is being given by former members of the Camden City Police Department now employed in the Metro Division. The practical field training follows two weeks of agency orientation

County 911 System gets major upgrade |
|
You might not hear the difference on the phone, but 9-1-1 in Camden County has gotten a major upgrade. Emergency responders have a tough job, but it’s a lot harder when they can’t communicate with each other. That was a major technology criticism across the country after 9/11. The $35 million system also updates the county 911 center in Lindenwold. McCray says it prioritizes emergencies as calls come in. |

Everything you've wanted to know about those pesky insects in your garden and how to keep them from getting to your tasty vegetables before you do will be explained in a workshop presented by Camden County Master Gardeners as part of their Homeowners Series of Workshops on Thursday, April 11th at 7 p.m. at the Camden County Environmental Center. You will learn how to identify the most common insects found on vegetables and how to control them organically.

Get magazines through County Library |
|
Beginning in February, customers with a Camden County Library card will be able to download over 100 popular magazines through Zinio, a digital newsstand offered to subscribing libraries. Magazines will be easy to download and view on a computer or on a range of mobile devices, including the iPad, Android tablet and the Kindle Fire. The service will provide access to a range of magazines popular with customers, including Consumer Reports, Car & Driver, Ladies Home Journal, Vibe, VIV Magazine and Newsweek, which is no longer available in a print version. All magazines will be complete editions, with some including enhanced content such as audio and video. There is no waiting list and no need to return issues.
