on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. The person selected for this position would serve until the end of 2012 which is the end of the current board’s organizational year.
In the State of New Jersey, in order to be eligible to hold a position on a local school board of education you must meet the following qualifications: Be able to read and write; Hold citizenship and one year's residence in the school district; Have no interest in any contract with, or claim against, the board; Not hold office as mayor or member of the governing body of the same district; Be registered to vote in the district and not be disqualified as a voter under N.J.S.A. 19:4-1. As mandated by state law, an elected or appointed board member must agree to the process of being fingerprinted and a background check. |
