Businesses to meet March 29th |
Just a reminder that the next Merchantville Business Association meeting is this Thursday, March 29th at 7:00 pm. There will be a get together beforehand in Café Bella Vita, 43 S. Centre Street, at 6:15. Please join us for a slice of gourmet pizza and refreshments. Eleven business owners attended the March 3rd meeting and much was discussed. Please consider how you can contribute to the group and If you'd like to lead a committee on ordinances, promotion or membership please let us know.

Raise in minimum wage moves ahead |

A plan to hike New Jersey's minimum wage by $1.25 to $8.50 an hour is a step closer to approval after the Senate Labor Committee passed it, 3-1, Thursday. The bill, which would peg the wage rate to inflation, passed an Assembly committee last month. Leaders in both Democratically controlled chambers in Trenton

Mummers stop off to serenade McFarlan's |

The Rustics Mini String Band paid a visit to McFarlan's after the Christmas parade to entertain the locals and they're a sure bet to add some South Philly flavor to any event. The band , with Merchantville roots, has been together for decades. Rustics members include Tommy McNichol and Charlie Faunce on banjos, Danny Eberhardt on accordion, Bob Holz and Bob Lightfoot on tenor sax, Edward Haywood on bass and Russ Figueroa on alto sax.
