On Thursday, May 8th, the Board of Commissioners kicked off a historic investment in roads, bridges, storm water drainage and other aspects of infrastructure throughout the county. Several major projects are underway in the 2025 construction season like the $13 million rebuild of Kings Highway and the upcoming construction of Haddon Avenue in Camden City, a project slated to cost approximately $17 million. In Merchantville a Camden County road project, designated as East Park Avenue Improvements, will begin
on or about May 12, 2025 on East Park Avenue from Centre Street to E. Chestnut Avenue. During the road work access to the Park Ave "triangle" parking lot will only be accessible via Centre Street. East Park Avenue between Centre Street and Franklin Avenue will be under construction through early September. Please follow all posted detours and parking modifications during the work. And please continue to patronize all of our downtown businesses. They will remain open and ready to serve throughout the project!
