Chief Rich Grassia recently announced that Merchantville's Police Department will be participating in this October's DEA TakeBack Day on October 25th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. when residents and neighbors are encouraged to stop by and turn in unneeded medication for safe disposal. So, clean out your medicine cabinets and help prevent drug misuse before it starts. MPD Officers will be conveniently located at a tent in front
of Borough Hall to receive your medication drop-offs in pill disposal boxes.
This DEA initiative occurs twice each year. Last spring there were a total of 4,590 collection sites that took in 310 tons of prescription unused medication. If you miss DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, you can still take advantage of year-round drop-off located inside Borough Hall.
