Celebrate Arbor Day in Merchantville! On Saturday, April 25, join the Merchantville Shade Tree Commission at 10:00 a.m. for their annual Arbor Day Celebration and a tree planting and education session at the Community Center, 212 Somerset Avenue. Learn more about our efforts to enhance our Borough's tree canopy and how you can properly care for your trees. Arbor Day is an internationally celebrated holiday that recognizes

the importance of trees and is celebrated on the last Friday in April. Residents of all ages are welcome! The Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree City USA program began in 1976 as an effort to increase the number of trees in cities and towns across the country. Merchantville earned its Tree City USA designation in 1978.
