Celebrate Halloween in Monsterville at Eilandarts Center where they dedicated their monthly gallery show to all things "Mystical, Magic and Spooky" a group show featuring local artist. Opening reception was on Friday, October 1st and runs month-long. Eclipse Brewing celebrates 5 years in town on Saturday so stop by for a free commemorative cup and soft pretzels as long as they last! Stop by The Station Coffee for their seasonal Pumpkin Latte Shake made with espresso. Ryan's Retail will host a Fall Pop-Up from 12-4 on Saturday, October 9th. Need a little something to put in your goblins bags? Stop by Aunt Charlotte's Candies and pick up some treats or a candy apple for yourself! Are you looking for a healthy pick-me-up so you can start those costumes? Pop by The Juice Bar on Centre Street for some cold-pressed juice or a jar of immune boosting Purple Sea Moss. Merchantville Antiques and Salvage stocks plenty of vintage and classic Halloween decor to dress your home for The Haunts of Monsterville! Walk by Nicole Nurthen Photography any evening to see if the story telling, singing pumpkins are out or what the Witches of East Maple are brewing. Don't forget to grab some grub for your little warlocks at Charlies Crepes on the Circle before heading out to tour the town. Monsterville's businesses PEAK Secondhand will host a "Spooky, Peaky Halloween Party" on Friday, October 29th, starting at 6:00 p.m. On Saturday, October 30th, Aradia's Treasures will host a mystical street fair "Mystery & Magic in Monsterville". The House of Rowan boutique wants you to shop their spooky stock on Saturdays from 12-4 and invites you to join them for a special event - a spooky evening of bubbly, snacks, and a walking tour of Monsterville! Adrian Rowan Photography is decorated for the Haunts of Monsterville, pop by to see the Victorian Skeletons having their midday tea of creepy crawlies while the little ones play ball out front and the hearse driver brings more attendees to the party. Friday Monster Markets

Bring the kids, meet friends and neighbors and shop at the Market Off Centre on Fridays in October between 5-9 p.m. This week's events include pumpkin painting and story time with a reading of “How Big Could Your Pumpkin Grow?” Call to pre-order your Pumpkin Paint Kits in advance to guarantee availability. Next Friday, October 15th you'll enjoy some spooky fun at the Market! Halloween games and creepy crafts will be available for the kids while you shop handmade/homemade goods, plants, cut flowers and other items. The market is located along a beautiful, tree-lined greenway in The 2nd annual Monsterville Jack O’Lantern Walk on October 22nd. Bring your own Jack O’Lantern and have it displayed along the Bike Path. The Merchantville Public Events Committee will provide a candle for each pumpkin. Check out weekly market vendors here.
 

A Message for Monsterville

Mayor Dracula of Monsterville shared a video announcement from the Borough of Monsterville about plans for a modified 2020 Monsterville schedule of events. Monsterville is strongly discouraging TRICK-OR-TREATING as recommended by the CDC but, residents who choose to enjoy that activity will be permitted to between 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31st. The Haunts of Monsterville - a decorating competition for businesses and residences - will go on as always with online voting taking place between October 23rd-25th. Stay tuned for a list of participating haunts! 8th Grade students from Merchantville School will host a Monsterville Haunted Circus Parade through the streets of Monsterville starting at 5:30pm on Saturday, October 24th. This will take the place of their annual Haunted House and support fundraising for their graduation in June. And, have you been BOOed? Keep an eye out on your front porch!

Kids' Library Events

Camden County Library has virtual events every week for kids. Here are some events for the week of May 11-15. Monday morning kids can "Make Your Own Journal" with simple home supplies or join in some evening fun with "Tween Dungeons & Dragons". On Tuesday get ready for some zany lip-syncing Zoom fun with Miss Tina and Miss Paige. Wednesday they are bringing their "Read to a Therapy Dog" program to your home via Zoom. And, every Monday-Friday at 10:30 a.m. librarians host "Little Readers Theatre" on Facebook Live. Please use their website calendar to register for theses events.
