William Metzler III

William Brookes Metzler III passed away peacefully at his home in Merchantville on April 24, 2021. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years Margaret (Zell) Metzler; He was a loving father to William "Billy" Metzler (Susan) and Jonathan Metzler (Leslie); Devoted and proud grandfather of Jonathan, Andrew and Joseph; Dear brother of Jeraldine (Harvey), Mary (Jerry), Anthony and Sabine (Dan). Bill happily and lovingly served his community throughout his life. In recent years, Bill also enjoyed serving the community through volunteering with the Niagara Fire Company and even working as a crossing guard for the children of Merchantville school. In lieu of flowers, contributions in William's name can be made to: Niagara Fire Company 22 E Park Dr. Merchantville, NJ 08109.ATTN: Bill Metzler Memorial Fund. Fire Co. Member Earns High Honors

On October 9th the officers and members of the Merchantville Fire Department - Niagara Fire Company congratulated SPC Erin Calderon on completing her basic and advanced training and graduating as the Distinguished Honor Graduate - with the Highest GPA in her class - and Iron Soldier - with the Highest PT test score in her class. SPC Calderon is a graduate of Rowan University, a member of Pennsauken EMS and currently assigned to the NJ National Guard. Her colleagues at the fire department look forward to having her back with them soon.

Beer Lovers Crowd FallFest

The Blue Monkey Tavern & Niagara Fire Company FallFest returned to Merchantville last evening to classic autumn weather. A crowd of more than 500 beer-lovers sampled 90 beers on tap, including from regional favorites Cape May Brewing, Dogfish Head Brewing and Kane Brewing. Your friend. Wine drinkers were also kept happy with white and red Pinos. Food was plentiful thanks to Marys Mobile DinerRed's Rolling Restaurant and Just Fork It Food Truck and Caterer. A portion of the proceeds from the FallFest went towards the Niagara Fire Company. Monkey, Niagra Fallfest
