The annual meeting of Merchantville's Historical Society is this Wednesday, October 25th, 7:30 p.m., at the Merchantville Community Center, 212 Somerset Avenue. All residents and friends are welcome to attend this free event. The theme of this year's meeting is the maintenance and preservation of the area's well-aged homes. Three homeowners who have done significant remodeling and restoration will review and discuss their project journeys.

The annual Memorial Day service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 29, 2023 at Wellwood Memorial Park, Linden & Maple Avenue. This year's guest speaker will be former NJ State Assemblyman, Jack Conners, a member of FW Grigg Post 68 American Legion. A former member of the Delaware National Guard, Jack has been a life-long advocate for veterans. In addition, BSA Troop 119 Merchantville will present the colors, Mayor Brennan will share a commemorative message and a traditional wreath laying

On May the 4th be with you Thursday - Star Wars Day - Charlie Koory welcomed The Merchantville Police Department at Charlie's Crepes to sponsor a joint "Coffee With a Cop" event with the Pennsauken Police Department. Coffee with a Cop brings police officers and the community members they serve together–over coffee–to discuss issues and learn more about each other. Lots of good people and stormtroopers stopped by Charlie's for a free cup-o-joe between 9:30-11:30 to meet and chat with community police officers. Thanks for hosting this event!

Race through historic Monsterville on Saturday, October 28th, in your favorite costume at our 2023 Zombie Run. Run, jog or walk through historic Monsterviille wearing your favorite costume. Chip timing, text messaging within seconds of finishing and an HD finish line video! The Merchantville Diversity Committee invites you to participate in the raising of the Black Lives Matter flag in commemoration of the life of George Floyd, and in continued support of our Black community. The flag raising will be held on Saturday, May 6th, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Borough Hall flag pole. George Floyd was arrested on May 25, 2020 by four police officers in Minneapolis, MN and died after being handcuffed and pinned to the ground in an episode that was captured on video, touching off nationwide protests.
