Ocean City held its annual Twins Contest on July 31st in front of the Music Pier on the Boardwalk. It's one of Ocean City's most popular and fun events and, yes you are seeing double! The event awarded prizes to identical and fraternal twins gathered to those who look the most and least alike in different age groups from 5 and under to adult.. The adults most alike were Nancy Logan and Jean Conover of Chambersburg Pa. The adults least alike were Mildred Henderson of Lancaster, Pa., and Lucille Roberts of Merchantville, N.J. Dorothy C. Young, longtime Pennsauken resident passed away Friday, August 2, 2019. She was 77. Dorothy had retired after many years working at the Cinnaminson and Maple Shade Acme. A devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Merchantville, Dorothy was also very dedicated to serving in the church food pantry. She is survived by two loving children, Peter LaBrie, Jeannine LaBrie; three cherished grandchildren, Sean LaBrie, Patrick LaBrie, Carmen LaBrie; three caring siblings, William Young Jr. (Bette), Thomas Young (Sigrid), Linda Rice (Andy); and several nieces and nephews. Her memorial service will be held 11 am, Friday, August 9th at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10 am until time of service. Patrick Smith passed away suddenly on July 25, 2019. Patrick grew up in Merchantville. He was a member of Merchantville Elementary School's class of 1998 and Camden Catholic, class of 2002. He is survived by his loving parents, Stephen Smith and Cynthia Smith; his siblings, Rosemary (Kurt) Geisler, Christopher Smith, Matthew Smith and his wife Carol; his wife Alana (nee Davis) and his beloved children, Ella Marie and Liam Henry as well as a large extended family. A resident of Marlton, Patrick worked for Quad Graphics in Westampton, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation on Friday, August 2nd from 10:30 a.m to 1:00 p.m. at the Healey Funeral Home, 9 White Horse Pike, Haddon Heights, NJ where his Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the Seabrook Foundation, In memory of Patrick Smith. Amos, Dorothy, - 97, of North Cape May, formerly of Harrisonburg, VA and Pennsauken, NJ, passed away peacefully in her sleep and ready to meet her creator God on July 30, 2019. She is predeceased by her husband Charles Amos (1997) and grandson Denis Collopy (Elizabeth). Survived by her daughters Patricia Williamson (Harry), Kathleen Collopy (Dennis), Dorothy Little (Richard), sister Mary Narleski of Merchantville, many loving nieces, nephews and friends, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. Elizabeth Anne (Lerch) Vasta, age 86, daughter of Ben and Virginia Lerch, passed quietly in her sleep after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease on July 1, 2019 at the Masonic Home in Burlington County, NJ. Bette was raised in Merchantville, NJ, where she spent most of her life. She attended Merchantville Elementary School and Merchantville High School, and graduated with a B.S in Chemistry from Bucknell University. Bette also trained and then volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in her hometown of Merchantville. She captained the volunteer squad for over two decades and served as their president for over 15 years. A visitation is scheduled for 10:00 am on September 6th at Trinity United Methodist Church, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am.
