Roland H. Ernst of Merchantville, NJ, died on November 13, 2020 at the age of 78. He is survived by his sister Henni; two brothers Bill and Gordon; grandchildren Amanda, Gregory and Andrew and several nieces and nephews. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard M. and is survived by two sons Richard Jr. and Robert (Lisa); eight daughters Peg Wilson, Annie Barracliffe (Carl LeVotch), Julie (late Russ) Nesst, Catherine (Tom) Erskine, Nora (Bob) Baker, Mary (John) Marlow, Jone-Marie (Randy) Altshuler and Carolee (George) Fisher. Carole Suzanne Rowland (Ricords), 81, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 5, 2020, in Ellicott City, Maryland. Born July 1, 1939, to Herbert And Margaret Ricords in Merchantville, New Jersey, she was the sister of Herbert Jr., Richard and Ann (Dare) and the family divided their time between Florida and New Jersey. Carole had the biggest heart, and worked tirelessly as a volunteer in every community she lived: cleaning and painting public housing, assisting with battered women’s shelters, health organizations in the early days of the AIDS crisis, The Innocence Project, Habitat for Humanity and cold-case files with the New Orleans Police Department. She is preceded in death by her husband and her son Robert. She is survived by her children Francine (Mark), Patrick (Lisa) and Maria; her daughter-in-law, Lesa Petri; her siblings, Herb “Sonny”, Ritchie and Ann (Dare); her grandchildren, Kate, Anthony, Nicole, Joseph, Phoebe, Taylor and Julia; and, her great-granddaughter, Evelyn. Full obituary.

Margaret L. (Lorenzo) Haynes of Mount Laurel, N.J. died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020, at home while surrounded by her loving family. She was 73. Margaret "Peggi" Haynes was born in Camden, N.J. She grew up in Woodlynne and later resided in Merchantville before moving to Mount Laurel in 1973. Peggi served on the Mount Laurel Board of Education for 39 years and first ran for the board in 1981. There will be a viewing from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. John Neumann RC Church, 560 Walton Avenue, Mount Laurel.  Interment will be at Our Lady of Victories Cemetery in Vineland, N.J. following Mass. Charles Edward Schank, of Wilmington, NC passed away on December 4th, 2020. Born February 15th, 1935 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Charles and Gladys Schank, he spent his early years in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. After graduating high school in Merchantville, NJ he attended Rutgers University, earning a degree in philosophy. He was then accepted to Yale Divinity School and received his Masters of Sacred Theology in 1959. He was ordained into the New York East Conference of the Methodist church in June, 1959. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony J., Jr. and loving mother of Anthony J., III (Michele) DeFranco, Denise Slawinski (Richard) and Christine McGinley (Anthony Barone). She is also survived by 4 loving grandchildren Vanessa, Joseph, Andrew and Maximilian; 3 brothers Robert, Edward and Paul Sikorski and 2 sisters Janet Schwarz and Cathy Koestel. Barbara worked for the Pennsauken School System for 41 years. She was a member of the Merchantville Women's Club, past president of St. Peter's Altar and Rosary Society, a Eucharistic Minister at St. Peter Church and a former CCD teacher. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday evening from 7:00-8:00 PM in the Alloway Funeral Home 315 E. Maple Avenue Merchantville, NJ. Joseph A. Callahan Jr., 78 passed away at home with his wife Judy and family on Monday, August 17th, 2020. Survived by his loving wife Judith A. Callahan (Cowgill) and his children Joesph (Julie), Chad (Denise), Craig, Kelly Henry (Sam), Kim Rogers (David) and David Rogers. Born in Camden, N.J. and lived and worked in Pennsauken and has lived in Ocean City for the past 29 years. Attended Arizona State University and is a U.S. Army veteran while serving in the 82nd Airborne Division and was in the Dominican Republic conflict.
