Not one but two celebrations took place before and during Merchantville's Borough Council meeting on August 8th. First, a thank you, farewell and well-wishes were offered to Halil Gungor, proprietor of the
Blue Monkey Tavern. He was presented and the "Keys to the City" in recognition of 18 years of service and memories. Next, the Borough recognized Sophia Bordi on her stellar freshman year leading the
Haddon Heights Lady Garnets Softball team through a fantastic season that included numerous shut outs and taking home the State Championship and Tournament of Champions! Sophia is recognized across the country for her phenomenal skills both as a pitcher and behind the plate. Congratulations were shared with both.
