Officer Rulli Promoted
Officer Matthew Rulli achieved rank of Sergeant as he took the oath of office from Mayor Brennan on Monday evening, December 14th. The ceremony, which took place at 7:00 p.m. in front of Borough Hall, included a gathering of family, friends and municipal officials, as well as, many brother officers from neighboring police departments. Sergeant Rulli has been protecting and serving the Merchantville community for many years and earned this well-deserved promotion as he has been fighting pancreatic cancer.
Plant Swap
Garden enthusiasts love to get together to talk about the splendor of the garden. They also love to gather to share plants. Incredible Edible Merchantville and The Merchantville Garden Club will host Plant Swaps at the gazebo on the Chestnut Avenue bike path and Wellwood Park on Saturday on Saturday, May 1st, from 10 a.m - 12:00 p.m. Seed and plant exchanges allow gardeners in the community to come together and share seeds, cuttings, and transplants from their own gardens to swap with others - so clean out your garden beds by digging up and dividing some plants. Plant swap rules are easy to follow: bring a pest-free, beautiful plant, or two or three for trade; they can be potted or bare root as long as you’re prepared to part with them.
Focus on Empowering Women
On January 6th, Matteo Iadonisi, Community Journalist for 6abc.com, profiled resident entrepreneur, Adrian Rowan, her client, Jessica Devito, and her boudoir photography business. His video interview focuses on how photography can empower women by capturing the strength of their persona in positive, artistic body images. Rowan, a single mother by choice and, business owner, vocally advocates that - much like herself - all women can realize their dreams and should never fear doing that by themselves.
