Job Posting March 27, 2019 The Merchantville School District is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions. Early Childhood Extended School Year 2019 – Teacher & Aide Dates – July 1 to August 1 - Monday to Thursday excluding July 4th. Student Hours: 9:00 – 11:30. Teacher and Aide Hours: 8:30 – 11:45. Certified Special Education Teacher at $40 per hour. Paraprofessional Aide at $16 per hour Summer Speech services as needed in IEPs Flexible Summer dates with time incorporated into the ESY program. Up to 30 hours for the summer at MEA contracted rate of $40 per hour. Certified Speech and Language Specialist Summer Reading Program Coordinator Develop a summer reading program for students in grades 1 – 8 that will be implemented in the Summer 2019. Work needs to be completed no later than May 17. This is a stipend position for $500. It can be shared between two people if the parties agree Summer Music Program Coordinator Coordination and implementation of our summer music program. Working with the administration to determine the best program time. Up to 50 hours at a contracted rate of $40 per hour Summer Enhancement Program June 24 – July 25 from Monday – Thursday: 1:30 – 3:00 Mondays and Wednesdays ELA. Tuesdays and Thursdays Math. Three different classes will run for each subject. Currently in K &1, currently in 2 & 3, currently in 4 & 5. Certified teachers will earn $40 per the MEA contract. Merchantville School participated in the annual Kids Heart Challenge. Students raised funds for the past month for this worthy cause. Today the students in Pre-K - 4th grade celebrated with hula hoop and jump rope activities in the gymnasium. Congrats to our champions. This is a fun and exciting event where students learn about their heart while helping others and raising money for the American Heart Association. The Kids Heart Challenge prepares your child for success through physical and emotional well-being.

February 11th through 15th Merchantville School celebrates "Take Your family To School Week" featuring a daily menu of special events. Join your fellow families for an evening of ‘Breakfast for Dinner’, pancakes, french toast, eggs, fruit, and breakfast meats, all provided by Amy’s Omelet House. BYOG! Wear your PJs and bring a board game for some family fun after dinner. Find out more about math programs at school and play fun math games with the whole family at STEM night. Visit your child's class during our Open House on Wednesday. Congratulations to the soccer and basketball champions of Merchantville Elementary School. Mayor and Council presented proclamations at tonight’s meeting. On March 20th, Merchantville School unveiled the championship banners for the Boy's Basketball Team this season. They won the Division and League Championships under Coach Moore and Coach Bennett's guidance and represented Merchantville School well on the court. Thank you for a great and exciting season. Congratulations to our boys basketball team on their big division championship win over Alice Costello Elementary School in Brooklawn. Carrying on their winning tradition Merchantville School's boys basketball team defeated Brooklawn. The 1947 boys' basketball team won the Group II state championship in 1947 vs. Weehawken High School, and again in 1965 vs. Clifford Scott High School in East Orange, NJ.

 

Congrats to Merchantville School’s “Why You’re Awesome” winners for the month of January. Merchantville School's Renaissance program continued to honor students with the "Why You're Awesome" award. These students were randomly chosen from the pool of students that received recognition from the teachers throughout the month. Congratulations to the students, keep being awesome.
