Church Walking Tour
Merchantville's Historical Society invites you to a walking tour of our Houses of Worship on Sunday, September 29th, at 2:00 p.m. Beginning at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 43 West Maple Avenue, we will have the opportunity to visit the interiors of four of Merchantville's churches. At each stop there will be a presentation on the history of that church in our town, as well as details of the architecture, stained glass and other points of interest. From St. Peter's we will continue up Maple Avenue with visits

National Police Week
In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15th falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. 2024 Memorial Day Service
Merchantville's annual Memorial Day service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 27, 2024 at Wellwood Memorial Park, Linden & Maple Avenue. As always, the services will be conducted by officers from the F.W. Grigg American Legion Post 68. In addition, BSA Troop 119 Merchantville will present the colors, Mayor Brennan will share a commemorative message and a traditional wreath laying by numerous Borough organizations and clubs will take place at the memorials facing Maple Avenue. Grace Church Reopens Food Pantry
On Wednesday, May 22nd, Grace Episcopal Church reopened their popular Drive-Up/Walk-Up Food Pantry. New operating hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The pantry temporarily shut down in March due to safety concerns and increased demand - experiencing heavy traffic congestion and public safety concerns. Merchantville Mayor Ted Brennan said that the borough and church leaders met to discuss ongoing safety concerns related to the food pantry and agreed that a pause was necessary to address the concerns of the public
