Join our community and guests from neighboring L'Arche communities as we share stories of daily life and the practices that make L'Arche unique. It is our hope that our guests will gain a greater understanding of the lived reality of community life by hearing the experiences of core members and assistants who have lived in community for several years. A quaint Camden County borough of about 3,800, Merchantville is best known for Victorian architecture and, lately, a move to merge with adjacent Cherry Hill. But unlike the notion of Merchantville becoming one with its far larger neighbor, the RayCo Armory sparked no opposition. Until recently. I hadn't noticed RayCo either, until DiSalvo pointed it out on a recent blustery morning. Hot off the presses! On April 1st Mayor Brennan introduced The Borough Brief - a digital newsletter containing updates on Borough of Merchantville happenings. Our peaceful movement on is only getting bigger and stronger. On Saturday, October 18th from 12:00-4:00 p.m. a "No Kings" March with Cooper River Indivisible will stage at the Westmont PATCO Station, 100 Stoy Avenue in Haddon Township. People will begin to up for the march at noon. We will be collecting items you bring for the Food Drive from 11:30 am to 12:30 at the location indicated. The march will begin moving at 12:30

The Pennsauken Environmental Commission is hosting its annual resident-only shredding event at the Park Avenue School Campus, 8201 Park Ave., on Saturday, April 5th, from 8:00 a.m. to noon. This paper-only shredding event is solely for Pennsauken and Merchantville residents, not businesses; those who attend must bring an I.D. Items for shredding should be placed in the rear of the vehicle, such as a trunk, truck bed, or an unoccupied back seat. Things that can be shredded include anything that has your signature, account number, social security number, etc., as well as any type of medical or legal information; documents can range from bank statements and credit card offers to tax forms and utility bills.
