Merchantville is helping to keep homes, workplaces and communities safer by handling disposal of commonly misused medications - especially opioids - responsibly. There is a CVS MedReturn drug collection drop-off bin in Borough Hall at 1 West Maple Avenue, next to the stairs across from the Clerk's office, that the community may use to drop off expired or unused non-controlled or schedule II, III, IV & V controlled substance medications any day of the week during normal business hours. Syringes, aerosols, inhalers,

lotions/creams, and hydrogen peroxide cannot be accepted. Normal business hours are: Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m to 4:30 p.m and Friday 8:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m.

Unneeded or expired medications that are not properly secured or disposed of can be associated with accidental poisoning, improper access by those seeking to misuse them, and even potential contamination of waterways. You can help prevent prescription drug misuse and promote safer communities, starting in your own home, by properly disposing of medications.
