The Merchantville Diversity Committee invites you to participate in the raising of the Black Lives Matter flag in commemoration of the life of George Floyd, and in continued support of our Black community. The flag raising will be held on Saturday, May 6th, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Borough Hall flag pole. George Floyd was arrested on May 25, 2020 by four police officers in Minneapolis, MN and died after being handcuffed and pinned to the ground in an episode that was captured on video, touching off nationwide protests.
Delaware Spill Concerns
Merchantville's tap water is supplied by the Merchantville-Pennsauken Water Commission. The MPWC has not been impacted by the Delaware River chemical spill. The MPWC has been monitoring the impacts of the chemical spill in the Delaware River. MPWC water supplies come from wells in the Raritan-Magothy aquifer. We do not take water directly from the Delaware River. Our water system has not been impacted by this spill. We continue to supply water that meets all State and Federal regulations.
