Indigenous Peoples’ Day, observed on October 13, 2025, is a time to recognize the history, culture, and ongoing contributions of Indigenous peoples across the United States. The day serves as a response to Columbus Day, shifting the focus from colonization to survival, self-determination, and the continued presence of Native nations. The first seed of Indigenous Peoples’ Day was planted at a U.N. international conference on discrimination in 1977.

Saints Circle Lessons
At Saints Circles last week, SPS Principal, Mrs. O'Callaghan, reminded students that Jesus told the story of a man who was attacked on the road, and was close to death. A man from a different culture came by, and helped him, even though the two cultures were at odds.
