The Merchantville Police Department is currently accepting applications for Full Time and Part Time Crossing Guards. Adult school crossing guards play an important role in the lives of children who walk or bike to school. Young children are more vulnerable to crashes when crossing the street because, until the age of 9 or 10, they lack the motor and cognitive skills required to safely navigate many traffic situations. Crossing guards aid children in safely crossing the street, and through their example, crossing guards help children develop the skills necessary to cross streets safely. In addition, crossing guards serve as a visual alert to drivers about the presence of children. Please contact Fran MeyersThis email address is being protected from spambots. Mayor Brennan is proud that Merchantville was chosen as an early voting location in Camden County. Merchantville is one of only seven towns in Camden County chosen to offer Early Voting from Saturday, October 23rd through Sunday, October 31st. During this additional voting period, registered voters may cast their ballots at the Community Center, 212 Somerset Street at voting booths available between 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sundays. This new option enables all registered voters to cast their ballot in person, using a voting machine, during a nine-day period prior to Election Day with no appointment necessary. New Jersey residents may now choose to vote, in person, when it’s most convenient for their schedule. Each early voting location in Camden County is open to all registered Camden County voters. Individuals do not need to vote in their registered municipality.

Mayor Brennan is urging all Merchantville residents to get vaccinated. In a Facebook post on Friday he shared that our vaccination rates are good but they can be better -- much better! The transmission rates for COVID-19 as a result of the delta variant are increasing and cases in our area have doubled in just the past week. Getting vaccinated saves lives and protects the lives of our friends and loved ones. As of August 6, 2021, Merchantville's fully vaccinated residents included 93% of those 65 and over, 74% of those 30 and over and 73% of those 18 and over. Partially vaccinated residents include 97% of those 65 and over, 79% of those 30 and over and 78% of those 18. Both pharmacies in Merchantville, CVS and Rite Aid, are administering vaccines and have availability this and every week. You can also use the NJ's appointment finder here for walk-in and scheduling options. Please get vaccinated and if you need assistance, please contact the Borough of Merchantville at 856-662-2474 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Let's get all age groups in our town fully vaccinated!
