The Camden County Bar Association Young Lawyer Committee and the Camden County Bar Foundation present their 3rd annual "First Tee" Golf Outing for the First Tee of Greater Philadelphia on July 9th at 12 p.m. The First Tee of Greater Philadelphia impacts the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. The First Tee reaches young people ages 5-18 through golf instruction and life skills lessons administered at chapters, military installations, and to students in elementary schools.

Do you know someone who is at risk for a heroin/opioid overdose? The Overdose Prevention Act now allows doctors the ability to prescribe the opiate antidote Narcan (naloxone) to those in a position to help someone else during an overdose of heroin or other opioids. The law also eliminates civil and criminal liability to anyone who administers naloxone. Join us on Tuesday, June 5th for a free training and education on how to administer naloxone to reverse a heroin/opioid overdose. All training sessions are from 6 PM to 8 PMat the Living Proof Recovery Center in Voorhees and will be provided by credentialed addiction counselors and licensed nurses in a small, confidential setting to allow participants to receive hands-on training. Participants who successfully complete the training will receive a free naloxone kit. On Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 5:00 p.m., Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) hosted a school gun violence town hall with a panel of students, parents, administrators, health experts, law enforcement officials and gun violence victims. “As tragic school shootings continue to occur, we can’t just have moments of silence for the victims and then do nothing,” said Congressman Donald Norcross. “We must have conversations about school safety and gun violence prevention and work together on commonsense solutions. Our children’s lives depend on it.”

PRESS - The Camden County Historical Alliance, an umbrella organization of 40 separate agencies, support groups and historical societies throughout the county, worked together to produce the markers, which will offer detailed information about sites in Haddon Township, Merchantville, Gloucester City, Camden, Lawnside and Winslow. Those places include the Battleship New Jersey, docked along the Delaware River in Camden; Collins and Pancoast Hall, now the Blue Monkey Tavern, in Merchantville; the Peter Mott House, an Underground Railroad stop, in Lawnside; the Gloucester City Waterworks; and the Spring Garden Inn, now a private home, built in 1826 as a stop for travelers along the White Horse Pike.

Join Cooper University Healthy Care for an educational and interactive forum with Cooper experts who will provide insight into the health challenges facing veteran and first responder communities. This week's seminar topic will be "Veteran's Forum: Putting the Health in Mental Health," presented by Sally French, APN. The seminar will be held on Tuesday, June 5th.
